Globalstar QUALCOMM GSP-2900 Fixed Phones are the ideal solution for when you need satellite telephone service in a marine or other extreme weather environment, or wherever you need Internet and e-mail access in addition to voice service (optional data kit sold seperately). For voice-only installed satellite telephone service, consider the Globalstar FAU-200 Fixed Phone.
The Globalstar QUALCOMM GSP-2900 can be configured to provide a single line of service to as many as five standard telephone jacks, giving you convenient custom installation options. Or just plug in a standard cordless phone to have ultimate flexibility. Because the GSP-2900 phones generate a standard dial tone, you can use any off-the-shelf FCC approved cordless phone, speakerphone, answering machine, internet router (with optional data kit), or analog PBX system.
Ideal for installation in maritime or other extreme weather environments, the GSP-2900-ST fixed phone allows for mounting the sensitive phone components in a protected area while mounting the antenna outside (with a clear line of sight to the satellites). This allows for operation in temperatures between -40F to 185F. The GSP-2900-ST uses the same 22"H x 1"W stick antenna that comes with a GSP-2900, but is modified for mounting. Cabling from the antenna to the phone unit is available in 20, 30 and 55-foot lengths. All other features are identical to the GSP-2900. This antenna configuration is best for tropical or northern zone installations, such as Florida, the Caribbean or Alaska.
